its hard to remember back because it seemed so long ago but it was kind of warm for a minute there? Remember? Huh? I do....because i have photos from many days to prove it! As its ffreeeezzzinngggg out and so windy i am getting cold just looking at these pics. I will miss you shorts! Remember how i said im not a huge fan of PANTS..well its kind of true. I like wearing pants when its chilly just because of the logic aspects but as soon as there is a sign of warmth im all shorts!!!! #ihatepants is my favorite hashtag just for kicks try it sometime on insty grams
I have not worn this luxurious silk leopard print shirt since
DAY FOUR!. I love how i was looking forward to remixing it so much and I have yet too until today! This is such a wonderful feeling shirt it makes you want to go totally skin underneath :).
Stay warm and thoughts out to those affected by Hurricane Sandy. xoxo

Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love getting dressed up and pretending to be someone/something else. But funny enough I don't get very creative with my costumes. For the past MANY years I go as Hermione from Harry Potter. I have had the costume since my mom made it for me in HIGH SCHOOL. I guess this is VERY slow fashion of me! Costumes are the one thing i find irritating about Halloween, many girls go and buy cheap horribly made character costumes that hardly cover their skin to then throw them out and get a new one the next year. Here are a few past costumes ;) including my Harry Potter one....I go way back so get excited
my mom was so creative i think the crayon is my favorite still to this day (and yes thats a pot on my head!!!)
I have seen more and more costumes becoming 'creative'. Using things that are already in your wardrobe you can come up with tons of ideas for costumes without spending absurd amounts of money for something you wear ONE DAY and supporting fast fashion. Here is my take on that this year. I am the great pumpkin (Think Charlie Brown ;) thus the shirt). This is a childs shirt my mom gave me and said "do something with this" it seemed too small for me so i threw it in my "do something with this pile" (i literally have that) and wrote it off for the moment. I rediscovered it when trying to organize my life and tried it on. Between the shirt and the fact that i live on a pumpkin farm, i knew i wanted to be a pumpkin! I added some handmade boot socks (from an old sweater), my favorite skirt and a hand-knitted pumpkin hat that belongs to my dad! VOILA! I am the Great Pumpkin :D.
Pumpkin Bugs!!!
i want to thank the Independent Fashion Bloggers for always coming up with creative Challenges. Since i post EVERYDAY this makes things really fun for me! The Halloween Costume Challenge inspired this post and made me want to write a little more about Halloween Costumes and the 'fast fashion' involved. I really took into consideration the photo they had on the contest from Mean Girls, when she goes dressed as a dead bride and everyone else is sexy "insert costume here". I hope to become more creative with my costumes in the future and i think platforms like blogs can allow us to become more expressive and individual with our costume choices not always choosing the "bagged" costume. Take this as my submission to the Costume Challenge IFB and thanks for being so creative and fun!

It has finally hit me that I am not in school this year. It seems kind of strange (and yah yah i know its November..but i knew after getting through pumpkin patch it would hit me). I have spent the past 24 years of my life in school...only breaking for summer for 12 years and then no break at all through college (except after Freshman year and then one summer when i did an internship and had a part time waitress gig..so i don't count that). Don't get me wrong, I am happy to not be taking classes and juggling jobs but at the same time its weird. Mostly weird because I still don't really have a grown up job and I am finding it hard to find one I am interested in. I find myself singing Avenue Q songs quite frequently and wondering what to be when i grow up (NEWS FLASH - Im grown up...damn it) ;) BUTTT anyway here is an awesome vintage dress that has brought me thoughts of school. Since fall is near the end I figured I should whip it out since it seemed rather education related. The mix of the pattern, buttons and bow makes me feel like i should be throwing on my letter jacket and running up the stairs at my boarding school....
My hair is so thin! It turns into the tiniest top knot. That is why i like sock buns so much, I can have the illusion of having thick luxurious locks.....Do you have thin hair? Anyone have tricks? I don't use products really but would be interested if anyone had advice!
All the leaves are turning brown, and falling to the ground! GASP! I am not ready for how cold it has started getting...I ran inside and threw on a coat!

I got the chance a few weeks back to write a press release for my local theatre group. My parents actually met doing theatre and it was nice to get back to helping out. So i decided to actually go SEE the show i helped write the press release for :) The show was amazing, Natalie and Joe are the local theatre power couple and they are phenomenal. It was good to see them on stage together! See photo of them below : )
I think the median age of attendance was about 65 which i find sad. I love the theatre so much and i just feel like if our local group did one 'hip' show a season they would get more young traffic. Do you like the theatre? I find that a lot of my friends say its too expensive, or that they would just rather go to a movie? What keeps you from going to see a live play? I know for me a lot of times its the venue, uncomfortable seats made for children, a lack of proper heating/cooling etc or the actual show choice. I am always thinking of ways to get more people to attend live shows. But i am never given the chance to try them out. I personally know social media does a bang up job of helping with getting attention....but how could i possibly help if never given the chance! Personally am a huge fan of THIS article about it... :)
So Bravo to the cast of Love Letters :) IT was fabulous. I was so glad i was asked to help out and i hope i can do something again soon!
