up the ante. day one-hundred-sixty-two

Life has been so busy! New full-time job. Posting everyday, fur babies, life. I am missing some things like crazy and am working on time management to get them all done. Because I was sick when I first started working I didn't have much energy after a long day of new and exciting things so I would go almost right to bed. Now I am feeling much better and need to manage my time out of work better!  One thing I really miss is my sewing machine. I have so many projects in mind or partially done I want to finish but I keep chosing books and tea, or working on outfit posts instead. Is anyone getting sick of outfits? Me me me, I talked a bit with a blogger friend about this yesterday. It is so much easier for me to do an outfit post because, well, I get dressed EVERYDAY. I have it down to where it takes me maybe 10 minutes to do enough photos to get a decent post going.....its just like second nature after 162 days of posting on the daily. Other things take a lot of time, even typing a lot is a lot of time so I tend to be brief on that. Anyway I guess my point is I have been making an effort to begin doing more on the blog. There is an interview and a giveaway on the way soon and really exciting guest posts as well! I also want to talk about the more serious issues in fashion and why I chose slow fashion. I am going to up the ante but bear with me it will take some getting used to not posting only outfits! 

Anyway, about the clothing. I fell in love with this sweater at first sight. The pretty pink is so fun and girly and not something I have much of, I also have an obsession with balls on sweaters and then there was a REMOVABLE cowl and I just scooped that thing up for 3.99 and finally months later am posting it. I love pink and black its really feminine and funky. I would pair this again with my black spikey boots

day sixtytwo. its time for wool coats

It got so cold this weekend. Coats. Scarves. Mittens. Hats. All starting to come out! I am a huge fan of my Michael Kors wool coat i got last year at nordstroms rack. This is one of those i will keep for quite some time! I am so not ready for it to be in the 40's but there was just no choice! My sister is a great photographer and we snuck these shots between customers in the corn maze. I really enjoy getting to spend more time with her this fall (since she comes home every weekend) and this past weekend was really fun because she was without her fiance (who i adore as well, go Andy!). Also check it out im wearing LIPSTICK...i never ever do because I apply it like I am 12 usually but i took some time and think i did OK. 

what can i say i love popcorn! who doesn't honestly. I eat it all day long at the patch. Also gotta love these earrings (which are my moms that i have basically stolen). 

i dropped my phone and then got my mittens dirty! i am such a silly goof its ridiculous.... sadly i actually shattered my back glass a few days after this! Bad Rachel taking it out of the case, but luckily for my birthday i am getting an iPhone 5, well kind of...it will come in like 20 days. Really excited to take even better instagram photos (you should follow me! i put up lots of photos of my pets and projects!) and actually be able to play music in my car (my headphones jack hasn't worked since March)

i almost fell (see picture above above picture ;))  and then was so happy when i didn't! 

Always fun at the patch! I wish fall would stick around longer. It always seems to fly by (it has been a few years since i have had a michigan fall) I am really trying to enjoy it as much as possible while it lasts!

day fiftynine. black and white and brown all over

i normally wear a lot of color. but some days my attitude calls for a lack of color. today was one of those days! I got this great b&w tshirt from Hope's Outlet this summer and it was really comfortable to wear under my leather jacket in the early morning and then loose it as it warmed up. 

i don't usually do much photo editing but i felt this outfit post called for some sepia ;) 

its been FREEZING so glad to have jackets and the post will be including some mittens here soon! brr!

Grand Haven has their equivalent of Grand Rapids' Art Prize! It is called Art Walk and this year they had a mural contest. This is one side of the building. I am always happy living in an area that supports the arts!

day thirtyseven. The September Issues Day Five: Grandpa Sweater in Winters White

oversized sweaters are in again! I have so many in my wardrobe and this is one of my favorites. I am also really glad to announce that WHITE is in for winter, thank goddess.....I get so sick of people touting out that you cant wear white between labor day and memorial day! I have always said screw it and now the mags agree. 

these shoes are so insane i wear limited jewelry when i wear them. I am just wearing one of my moms old rings and some simple stud earrings.
