So amped they are here!

I had asked Todd to make me white skinnies last fall and he finally had time to make them. I basically have to coat them in coconut oil and myself to get them on and off but they are absolutely worth the wait and the effort. I heart heart them. And then there was this bag made with vintage fabric he had JUST finished when i was coming to pick them up..needless to say it took about 6 seconds for me to say MINE.

I am a fan of overalls. Its incredibly dorky and ridiculous but I have never stopped liking them since I wore them as a kid. I think these are the bees knees. Totally 90's but now floral is way back and so perfect right. I grunged em up w/ my Jeffreys digs.

please warmth. day two-hundred-thirty-nine.

i am longing warm weather

this time last year we already had mega warm days (and also lost all of our fruit crops because of it so...i should be happy). But coming from living in the south for 2 years I can't handle it anymore!!! WARM COME TO MEEEEE

it finally started to feel really nice this afternoon. But way windy. I cannot wait until I can wear this outfit sans tights and the under-tank. 

Also these shorts are plastic. and from the 90's. Probably giving me cancer but seriously they are amazing. And maybe a bit too tight but eh whatever

(you can see I am wearing two different pairs of sunglasses during the course of a day...that is because I am cursed when it comes to sunglasses..luckily I just misplaced them for a bit........this time!)

uniform of spring. day two-hundred-thirty-one.

Spring and Fall are the two greatest seasons ever. Yes summer is awesome because of the beach and the sun, and winter is cool for about 7 seconds playing in the snow and drinking hot chocolate but Spring and Fall are fashions best. Colors can be more bold and layering can get just out of control. For me spring means lots of layers. Michigan weather varies in the spring from snowing one minute to sunshiney and warm the next so having many layers is key. My spring uniform usually consists of some kind of jacket/blazer over some kind of shirt combination. Maybe a button up? A tshirt? A sweater? Or all at once. 

Spring and Fall also mean lots of colors. This blue/black/grey outfit just points to how hard it is to transition into spring colors when its still dreary outside. However playing with print mixing and textures is always a great alternative to bold spring colors and if I am not playing with colors it is usually prints and textures instead. This jacket has so many textures, clear vinyl pockets, jean material and even an almost leather piece on the back. Paired with my DIY polka-dot pants and a screen-printed tee this is my classic go to look. Also because I have secretly wanted to be goth/punk my whole life I adore pairing these soft looks with chunky Jeffrey Campbell spiked Litas and my studded belt. And voila there you have it my spring uniform is born. Never predictable but always fun.

vintage dress with floral blazer and spikes. day one-hundred-seventy-two.

ahhhhh this backdrop. All the snow is so pretty and fresh! POWDER!!!!!! I am just loving it. Not the best weather for dressing self but can be fun to whip out all the boots!!!! Gotta layer up as well. I am all about multiple layers of leggings under dresses with slips and blazers. yes. Plus winter accessories are fun. You shouldn't wear beanies in the summer unless you are going for that hipster crazy look. 

if i don't tie it tight this collar flips around!!!! annoying

burgandy skirt and TENDEN shirt. day one-hundred-one.

Another day in Oregon. Another chance to wear my awesome spiky shoes!!!! I wore these onto campus bomin around. They are suprisingly so comfortable but because oregon is so rainy i almost slipped and fell like 8 times. They don't have enough traction on the bottoms. I need to fix that. I would step on a slippery leaf and almost beat the dust! All that dance training and yoga comes in handy when trying to walk in heels!

I get scared to walk on or stand on grates. I think it comes from having a lot of falling dreams as a child (i blame it on Alice in Wonderland, one of my favorites btw). So i get kinda nervous even being this close! I also will avoid them like the plague while walking. While trying to conquer my fears I once attempted to walk across one in Chicago and it probably looked like when you played lava as a kid.....i looked hillarious. I am working on this absurd fear ;)

The humidity/rain just makes my hair look lovely doesn't it.......
