hot hot hot! day one-hundred-nineteen.

IMG_3404
When we were going through Kristin's mom's things I saw this shirt and had to have it. Kristin gave me this look like REALLY????.... I can totally understand why it's quite ridiculous but I fell in LOVE LOVE LOVE. My mom and I stopped to take this photos at Target while she was doing some shopping for her work Christmas exchange. It was really windy and my hair was not cooperating at all this day (which is why it went up, lets get serious i need a haircut like something fierce). I also hadn't had the chance to wear my snakeskin yet this fall, i kind of got this piece (thrifted Chicos) as a potential re-fashion and just haven't come up with what to do. It was perfect for this outfit. I have been gravitating to tights/leggings + skirts + t-shirts and sweaters lately. It is just so easy and comfortable! The theme for todays other photography is "Other People's Animals".

My aunts dog Daisy! Part of the reason I wanted to include her is right now Target has these dog costumes in the dollar section and one is a PENGUIN and I just thought omg if I had a daisy she would totally be a penguin...luckily they don't make them in Lily/Rue size! But they are made of felt and I was like "hmmmm I should make dog costumes!!!" (but NO i have tons of other projects silly Rachel!)

It is so busy at any retail establishment this time of year. I love when people ask if they can take a picture of both of us and my mom and I are like NO or we give in and are like surreeeee. There were tons of people going in and out of target! I even saw my cousin as we were leaving Hobby Lobby!

melt hearts. day one-hundred-eighteen.

IMG_3380
The title of the post is totally pointing at my shirt! MELT HEARTS! NOT ICE CAPS with the cutie little penguin! (everyone say AWWW) I Got this shirt when i visited the Audubon Aquarium in New Orleans! I have had a fondness for penguins all my life but especially since i visited Antarctica on a Study Abroad in college! The photographs today are from that trip...i had just a point and shoot but took so many amazing photographs. I am sure there will be more to come on this blog!

!@#$ pants. day one-hundred-seventeen.

IMG_3366
"For a girl who has a thing against pants, you sure wear a lot of pants!" said a friend to me, and I replied "!@#$ pants!" But seriously pants kind of irritate me. I understand women suffered so I could wear pants but sometimes I find them really limiting. In general I find a lot of clothes limiting. So this day when I just wanted to chill around, do some sewing and card making I opted for what I call "not pants, pants". THESE ARE NOT PANTS. They are sweats...or pajamas. I get really sad when I see people in Meijer wearing pajamas (like the printed ones) sweats are a little better.... (OK like I'm one to judge, in college I did that, I just observe this and automatically think they have no clothes and I should take them shopping!). But REALLY? You leave the house one time and you can't even throw on real pants? Its like they all said !@#$ pants! Anyway I am on this really mean soapbox and I really am not mean......So here I am showing you real life like always, this is what I wore, I didn't go anywhere this day but EVERYDAY I take a picture of what I actually wore. It's crazy right..but its kind of my M.O. and I think you appreciate it! Or at least I hope you do, this is the whole idea! That I show you what its like to be a real person/fashion blogger. Sometimes I look awesomesauce and other times I look like the crazy old man in sweatpants. Crazy.

SIDE NOTE: Amazing stuff happening on the blog! Having a full blog-redesign done and its going well so far. It will be a process (since I am learning and doing it myself thanks to the lovely girls at A BEAUTIFUL MESS for their course they have (so worth it FYI). The first thing I wanted to do that you can SEE is the CALENDAR PAGE.  Please check it out! It is a great way if you are new to the blog to see what I have worn everyday all at once. There will be more awesome changes coming I will keep you posted in but check this one out!

See look I even make fun of myself(left me) and judge myself(right me) in sweatpants...woah.... that's some inception %^&*.

IMG_3371
I seriously haven't worn these shoes in ages. I didn't even go longboarding this summer (sadface). Thats basically why I keep them around. I never got my Smokin Mad Love board this summer either (which makes sense why I didn't go) I think now I may have a custom one done. Maybe YOSF inspired or something. Anyway they are comfy. That is all. Rock on with your non-pants pants!!!!

silk and combat boots. day one-hundred-sixteen.

IMG_3353
It's Monday again! Crazy how that creeps around again every oh like seven days or something ;). I tend to get a big case of the Mondays so I like to do fun things on Monday like YOGA and more meditation than normal, venture to the library etc. I also have a goal this week to spend quite a bit of time working on that blog course and redesigning the blog. I keep myself pretty busy between job hunting, this blog, sewing and constantly adding to the lists! But Mondays always require more coffee (I want to get more into tea and start laying off the coffee a bit), and more structured lists (otherwise i tend to spend too much time on bloglovin catching up instead of doing real work). Anyway hope you don't have a case of the Mondays or if you do this blog helps to cheer you up a bit!

holland time. day one-hundred-fifteen.

IMG_3332
I have been spending a lot of time in Holland, MI lately. It is such a cool little town. I think its really a lot bigger than Grand Haven mainly because there is no 'off-season'. In the Spring its all tulips and wooden shoes (which I am so excited to be here for!), the summer its a beach town and then it is also home to Hope College so you get the college kids all fall/winter/spring. There are so many cute shops and it is always bustling with people! I love it, so since I have been interviewing down there I took some time to find cool place to take shots like this wall. Its funky! I tend to get isolated and forget that such a cute town is only 20 minutes away!

IMG_3825
This is Hedwig, one of my cats, he was rolling around in catnip on the counter. I love this shot of him and his goofy eyes.

Hedwig again (on the Left) and Troy on the right, Troy was my first pet on my own. I am the pet person of the family, aside from Smokey the greenhouse cat we had, all the pets are my fault (my poor mom and dad). Troy is seven years old now, he is a really cool cat, but requires way more attention than any cat should. He is like a child. But one who won't let you dress him up and will not complete his chores...dang lazy Troy!

dress like a bruise. day one-hundred-fourteen.

IMG_3324
I didn't really realize until after I took the photos and looked at them (so the next day...) That i look like a bruise. My bruises are always purple/black/grey and then turn yellow (so i guess i am missing the yellow but...). This was an outfit i wore to go work for hours on my interview project at the library. Sometimes I just like to work not at home (it gets really old and you get easily distracted). So i ventured out in the cold to the Library. I am a library regular so my going to the library is nothing new, its just i normally don't spend significant periods of time there. It was interesting to say the least.....
