fall favorite

IMG_3153
I love everything about fall. Fall colors, the weather change and especially getting to wear my favorite jacket again. This jacket is very special to me. It was my mom's from back in the day and it stood the test of time and landed right into my closet. It is REAL leather. As a vegan i take issue with leather production but I still buy leather shoes (more on that in a later post) and will totally buy used leather or take this coat for instance, keep timeless treasures that have meaning. Also excuse the somewhat graininess of these photos. Light is a little biatch who goes away to quickly after work!

Do you have a prized piece in your closet that has a great story? I have SO MANY and these are the things that would be extremely hard for me to let go of.

fringe benefits

IMG_3074 IMG_3081 IMG_3075 IMG_3072 IMG_3073 IMG_3080 IMG_3077
Ahhh...the benefits of a nice fringey jacket! (is fringey even a word? auto correct thinks not..but I'm making it one). Fringe goes so well with my style.....funky, different and vintage! I had been looking for a fringe jacket for the longest time and finally found one at Buffalo Exchange in Eugene at the beginning of the summer. I have been waiting for cool fall mornings like this one to bust it out. Cropped jackets are great for the in-between weather times we are having around these parts. Don't get me wrong I love the warm weather but cutting off a chunk of coat makes this an all day coat instead of before/after the sun coat.

The next few posts are an ode to jackets since the chilly weather is upon us! In fact I was inspired by and am linking up with IFB Project #116: Coat of Many Colors. Tomorrows post will feature my FAVORITE fall coat. OH and btw my hair is purple ;) in case you missed out on that exciting change!

goat style

IMG_1010
Goat Style! As you may know I am obsessed w/ wolf-pack shirts. So when this goat shirt came around my life ;) I completely stole the shit out of it. Yup you heard me S.T.O.L.E. Well not really its kind of a pseudo type of borrowing I have adapted that is really just my way of not feeling bad for sneaking others clothing out of their possession. Don't you think its worth it? ....Following = the goat eating Kudzu! I helped care for when I lived in AL. Awesometimes.

grunge time

I've been really into wearing band tshirts lately. Highwaisted items and plaid. I just got these sweet ass boots as a gift and adding them to any outfit instantaneously transports me back to grunge city 90s style. I am obsessed w/ trying to get this look to work for me. This is my version. This was excessively comfortable for the weather today (not very often do I actually post photos same day but I was going to link up w/ IFB's latest project...but silly me missed the deadline..ah well still getting the hang of my calendar update on my phone :P). Anyway I love combining blacks and browns and blues to look like a giant bruise person. I think having blonde hair really adds to the grunge factor of this. I just need slightly darker roots to make this look legit. And maybe some greasy hair (ew).

Second story today. As i was taking these photos these guys were loading their boat into the garage next to this one and were like hey! what are you taking pictures of??? I reply: well right now I am taking photos of this wall but soon it will be me. They looked at me like I was insane. Which I might be but at high noon this spot always has rad-tastic lighting so I forgo my awesomness for a moment and just look like a total dweeb. Good times

why hello October!

IMG_1094 IMG_1101 IMG_1098 IMG_1074 october 1.1 IMG_1099 IMG_1096 IMG_1084 IMG_1105 IMG_1093 IMG_1086 IMG_1069 IMG_1065 IMG_1097
I am so excited that it is October!!!! I have always loved October so much. I think its because my birthday, favorite season and holiday are all wrapped into one month! Also not to mention the family farm is open for pumpkin picking, hayrides and corn maze fun. This makes for an insanely busy October but also ridiculously fun. I am looking forward to all that October holds and am excited to do some fun different things. October plans include getting the blog totally revamped, doing a few giveaways and interviews and starting a sponsor page! In non-bloggy life I am excited to spend time on the farm with the family. I don't get much down time to go do the traditional fall things like picking apples but thats OK! I have lots of friends with apple farms and never miss out on the fresh goodness! Although sometimes I wish I could take a Saturday to do those activities I love helping with the family biz. Also, for my birthday I have some friends coming to stay with me and we are going to my favorite restaurant in GR for my birthday celebration and of course doing a hayride to celebrate my ageing. Can't wait to see what surprises October brings. What plans do you have for October?
