Confession: These boots are not RED! :) so I may have tricked you but the comma should make sense now. I loooveeee these new riding boots. A classic riding style and color and they are sooo comfortable for a work day. This outfit seems way classic to me from the colors to the shape and even my hair screams classic. Like I pulled myself right out of a Ralph Lauren catalog or something.
Christmas is so close and it doesn't even seem right! I am actually done with my shopping though as I have spent all year amassing a supply of thrifted gifts. How are you all doing on your shopping? I am looking forward to a day off and lots of pajama snuggling with my dogs, cats and family. Also to the vegan noms my mom will spoil me with!!!

I have been trying to discover new photo locations around town. The old industrial area in Holland MI is now my new favorite place to find fun walls and little corners. Despite the stares from smoke breakers i love going to this area. It is peaceful and quiet and during my lunch its exactly what I need.
I have also been watching a lot of Mad Men. I have never watched the show before but knew I should based on my obsession with late 50's and 60's fashions. I have found so much inspiration! Too bad the weather makes me still just want to put on leggings under jeans and like 7 giant sweaters. This day I found my fashion groove and channeled a bit of the 60's, 70's and now.
I will keep exploring and finding new locations and hopefully finding enough inspiration to get dressed in this under 20 degree weather. Keep warm kiddos.
Here is the problem...vegan shoes just don't stand up to the test of elements or time. When I got these from Platos Closet they had NEVER been worn and were completely together. Just a year of wear and this is what you get! Now, I do admit there are vegan shoes that are great but most vegans I know buy cheap, made in China shoes and just buy them over and over again. I am looking for stuff that lasts and clearly these are not it. What is sad is these are SOOO comfy, they are fleece lined and insanely cozy....ahh well. Let the vegan boot hunt BEGIN!
Time for some Katie love!
Any vegan fashionistas out there that can point me in the right direction?
And now the hair is brown! This is pre-cut so it looks so frazzled and terrible. Showing how bad it really destroyed things. Honestly though i did a little trimming in hopes that that would be enough but it wasn't. See next post. Lots less hair. And honestly I should take of more but I just cannot bring myself to do so.
I seriously cannot believe its December 7th....the past few months have flown by. I even meant to do an outfit/instagram roundup (like usual) but have decided after December I am just going to do a two month roundup.
This sweater is very special to me. Winter kind of signifies the right time to wear it as its ridiculously warm. It was my grandmothers and my mom wore it as well.

Well here you have it! The last of the purple hair.
This same day I went back to normal old Rachel hair and I couldn't be happier. WHILE purple was so fun and I wish I could have it all the time it really destroyed my hair. And honestly there is nothing SLOW about dying your hair. Especially to blonde. It requires so much investment of time and money getting your roots touched up and getting everything toned and blah de blah de blah. PLUS did I mention it DESTROYED my hair? I had to cut off a ton which is good to get rid of it but makes me sad. I like my hair longer. I really need to chop off even more but I just can't bring myself to do it.
So in the style of this blog I plan to slow my hair down. Take care of it more, take more time trying to grow it out and not destroy the crap out of it just for pretty purpleness (however it was sure pretty wasn't it?). I will miss it but will have to remember this when come a year from now I really want to do it. I am thinking of trying henna because I have read from many bloggers it has done wonders for their hair. Any thoughts?
Also I didn't even mention my clothing this blog post because it really was to be all about the hair but I mean seriously how adorable are the pastels in the winter snow!??!?!! more more more

Sometimes on superiorly cloudy days I get really down. I definitely have seasonal affectiveness disorder or whatever it's called. On those days I just wanna wear how I feel so therefore the blue outfits come into play. I love pairing different prints in similar shades and mixing it all up with accessories. This blue coat is vintage and fan-freaking-tastic it rocks my cat socks off.
